Q: Should I remove plastic pieces from letters before putting them in the paper recycling bin?

Q: Do I have to pay for any items I take from the recycling center?
A: The Otaniemi center operates on charity basis - you can bring anything and take anything free of charge. If you wish to help the center operations, there's a donation box for getting small supplies and tea for the volunteers, but donations are not in any way mandatory.

Q: What is the best way to wash clothes?
A: In general, Finland has a very low hardness of water. That means the smallest recommended dosages of detergent will do the job just fine for normal levels of dirt. The lack of hardness is due to the soil being low on calcium minerals.

Q: How can I make a biowaste bag from everyday materials, like an old newspaper?

Q: Who will take care of battery basket located in JMT 6 B hall? It's totally full.
A: Officially, the basket is emptied by Lassila & Tikanoja. A separate emptying run will cost quite a bit, so it will be done when they have some other business to do here as well. In the mean while, you can take your batteries e.g. to TKY Secretariat's basket.
